Kilcunda 2/11/2008 (Melbourne Cup weekend)
After giving up trying to get a vote at the last GGREC meeting to make this a club weekend,
we Paul VK3TGX, Marianna, Pat VK3OZ, Garhame VK3YCG, & Susan VK3FXXX decided to go anyway.
On Sunday Pat was super keen to join in the NZ Straight key competition, We had two HF radio's & no Morse key
Pat was getting ready to drive home to get one so she could participate, that is to Phil VK3YB offered to bring one.
Sunday saw us at the Wonthaggi State Coal Mine. Sunday night's 9:00 Hf sked on 3.640MHz was a ripper with
VK3ARV, KMN, BUF, BQO, XMF, KFC, ZAP, & VK3ZGW joining in from various places. Ian VK3BUF and crew
had set up camp 15Km north of Licola on the Wellington river in a national park. Ivan was in his holiday home down at Walkerville,
while Ross VK3ZAP & Albert VK3BQO were relaxing at home - If you didn't go, or join in on Sunday night you definatly missed out.
